Yesterday, was a big day for our club by co-hosting this year's Multicultural Athletics Meet at Casey Fields. After the heavy wind on Friday, everyone was hoping for better weather. When our club president and I went there early yesterday morning to set up,it was still raining.
This event was an opportunity for athletes, regardless of age, to showcase their talent. During the competition the weather was challenging, but most of the time no rain. The final event was the 5000m run. First planned as a cross country but changed to a track event, due to the fact that the course was not safe to run after the heavy rain previously.
All in all it was a successful day which was attended by 348 athletes. Our Masters members competed in 800m, 1500m and 5000m runs.
